Cheap Single Pushchairs

The Babyzen Yoyo stroller is a great option if you're on a budget and don't need an extra stroller that can be used as a car seat carrier. It comes with a simple one-step foot brake that's flip-flop comfortable.

It's also easy to push and feels sturdy when navigating kerbs or woodland paths. Additionally, it's easy to fold.

1. Babyzen YOYO2

The Babyzen YOYO2 has earned itself a reputation as the ultimate lightweight buggy for jet-setters and city dwellers alike, thanks to its extremely nimble handling and foldable design that can be tucked away in aeroplane overhead luggage. The most recent version comes with independent suspension on all 4 wheels made of Hytrel elastomer, allowing it to  perfectly traverse all types and terrains'.

The curved fabric bassinet, base YOYO2 frame and 6+ months colour pack combine to create a sleek pushchair with a subtle elegant design. The base frame weighs less than a kilo, and is so lightweight that you can lift it from the box with just one hand.

It's also easy to add or remove attachments, adaptors, or adaptors such as the hood, for instance, snaps onto the YOYO2 using reassuring clicks and is machine washable at 30 degrees to prevent stains from smushed rice cakes and half-dissolved carrot puffs. It can be used as a pram right from birth using the Newborn Pack or bassinet, or converted to a stroller from 6 months using the YOYO Connect additional chassis.

2. Evenflo Pivot Xplore

Evenflo Pivot Xplore stroller wagon is a great option for parents seeking an adaptable stroller. The Evenflo Pivot Xplore can be converted from a stroller to an actual wagon by flipping the handle. Parents can then select which mode is best for their needs. The wagon can hold two or more children from 6 months old to 5 years, and it has a wide storage basket for all of your on-the-go needs.

The Xplore comes with two canopy options that rotate from front-to-back, providing adequate sun protection for the entire family. It also has a footwell that is not as large or deep as some wagons, so it may not be suitable for longer trips or napping.

The frame on the Xplore feels sturdy and solid but it doesn't have as much flexibility as other wagons we tried. It is also more difficult than other wagons to fold, and does not lock tightly after folding. It is easy to move however, and can fit through narrow 28-inch doors.

3. Delta Children LX Side by Side

This bare-bones double stroller from Delta Children is an excellent choice for parents looking for an affordable second stroller for their travels. It scored a dazzling score in our Strollers and Multiples test for weight and folded size that means it's light, compact when folded and easy to put into a trunk of a car or closet. It also comes with a multi-position reclining seat and an adult cup holder. Other key features include 360-degree shock-absorbing front wheels, as well as two large hanging storage bags.

In our test of the push and turn it performed better than many of the other cheap strollers we tried, but it's not the most maneuverable on uneven ground or through narrow doors. The sunshades it has are among the ones we tested the smallest, providing only direct overhead coverage and no windows that peek out. The UPPAbaby G-Link 2 and Zoe Twin+ have much larger sunshades.

It took us just under 3 minutes to assemble the Delta with a manual. None of the parts required tools. It's missing certain features we believe are essential for a double stroller. They include a large basket, reclining seats and leg rests that can be adjusted.

4. Maxi-Cosi Zelia 2-in-1

The Zelia is the latest version of Maxi-Cosi's pushchair range and is billed as an urban travel system. It is suitable from birth until around 3.5-years-old. The seat and carrycot can be easily converted with a few clicks. It can be used with Maxi Cosi capsule car seats. It includes a light Mico 30 infant seat, a car-base that stays in the car and reversible carriage.

The seat can be reclined with one hand, and the large shopping basket makes it easy for parents to help their child in and out. Despite being a small pushchair, it was able to handle the everyday bumps well and was able to pass through doorways without any fuss.

The front wheels are able to be locked in a forward-facing position and can also pivot. This is useful in rough terrain. While walking through  pushchairsandprams , we let them swivel and it handled this fairly well although it did seem more bumpy than the other models that we tested.

5. Baby Jogger City Tour 2

Baby Jogger is a household name for their three-wheeled, all-terrain Jogging pushchairs, however they also make a good range of 4-wheeler strollers. City Tour 2 is their most loved model. It is easy to use and folds small enough to fit in a car boot even with the carrycot attached.

It's heavier than other strollers that we tried, but because it comes with rubber composite wheels, it feels sturdy and well-made. It is easy to maneuver on various terrains and even with two children, a shopping bag and other things.

Both the carrycot and seat have hoods that are able to be lower to reveal the UV50+ sun canopy extensions. They are sturdy and waterproof, in contrast to other hoods for prams that can be blown back onto toddlers faces.

It does not have much storage space, but it comes with an ample basket that is deep enough to hold a changing bag or plenty of food. You can also use it with a Baby Jogger car seat for infants who weigh 20 pounds or less (car seat and adapters are available separately). If you need a stroller that is able to be taken on the road, the City Tour 2 is an excellent choice.

6. Nuna Mixx Next

When the Nuna Mixx first came onto the scene it stole the hearts of parents across the world. It is an aluminium-framed stroller that can be used from infant's earliest days through. It is a standout model with many unique features, including the ability of the seat to flip between parent and world facing as well as a large UPF50+ canopy that has an eye-shade that flips out, as well as an adjustable handlebar.

The chassis has a built-in suspension system that reduces the impact of bumpy terrain. The wheels are constructed from tough foam and minimise punctures. It was simple to push and our tester was able manoeuvre the vehicle through the narrow streets.

It folds in four simple steps, and locks automatically without hassle. It can also stand and be rolled around for easier transportation in the boot of your car or down the stairs at home. The travel system comes included with the option of adding an additional car seat or carrycot using the adaptors that are included. The brakes come with a single action and are color coded. They also can be used with flip-flops.

7. Babyzen Duet

This budget single pushchair is extremely easy to use and has an excellent dual suspension system, one-hand fold and a convenient carry strap. It's also very light and robust. The seat can be reclined to many different positions. It also has a double-breathable mattress that's suitable for babies.

The canopy/seat comes with two big sun visors that are either fixed or flipped out. Both are UPF50+. The toggle closure isn't ideal as it’s not as quiet as Velcro, and can cause sleepy babies to wake up.

The Duet is a side-byside stroller and can be set up to take twins or siblings (up to 22kg max per seat). It is compatible with two infant car seat and some carrycots. In twin mode seats, the seats can be positioned so that they face each one. They can also be oriented to face the parents. This should reduce sibling disputes over who gets seated with mom and dad. It comes with a huge gear tray, a bottle holder and snack trays. It also has a superior compact stand fold and automatic frame lock.

8. Baby Jogger Urban Glide 2.

The Thule Urban glide 2 is a great jogger for parents that like to be active. It's one of the lightest running strollers that you can buy for your child. It comes with great safety features like a 5-point harness as well as a safety wrist strap. It also has a twist hand brake that's distinct from the lever-type used on rival models.

The seat is padded and offers a large area to sit. However the seat's isn't as deep as those of other joggers (it's just 10 inches deep") The storage bin is equipped with an open-top cover that can be closed to keep things secure. It can hold up to 10 lbs which is sufficient for the majority of diaper bags.

The Urban Glide 2 isn't compatible with bassinets for infants or car seats as it comes, but you can use it from day one by purchasing adapters for the majority of seats made by brands like BOB, Graco, Combi, Evenflo, Britax, and UPPAbaby. It's easy to fold and assemble in 5-10 minutes without any tools. The instruction manual is simple to understand and is available in multiple languages.
